About Vittorio Villa

Vittorio Villa has been a violin maker for over thirty years and has made over three hundred instruments which have been sold all over the world. He began violin making in two different styles: "new looking violins" (according to modern violinmaking school aesthetic rules), and "antique looking violins", which means making copies, or replicas of famous old instruments.

Throughout the years, his style changed and around 2010 decided to forge his own path.  He now solely makes "antique looking violins." His violins, although they are still strongly inspired to the great Italian Master violinmakers' works, are no longer a copy of someone else's style, but are now marked by his own personality and recognized as "Vittorio Villa's" violins.

Some performers comment that his violins are "soft antique looking instruments" because they don't look damaged, or mistreated. On the contrary, although they feature smooth edges and signs of use, they appear like well cared for violins that have been played and loved for many years.
